1) Student Case Writing Competition – Case Craft 2026

Case Craft 2026 is FLAME Case Center’s flagship student case writing competition, designed to cultivate original thinking, rigorous research, and storytelling skills among undergraduate and postgraduate students. The competition encourages students to step into the role of case writers by identifying real-world managerial dilemmas and translating them into high-quality teaching cases rooted in Indian and global business contexts.

Participants are guided through the complete case development process—from problem identification and field research to structuring the narrative and articulating decision points. Emphasis is placed on realism, analytical depth, ethical considerations, and pedagogical value. Through structured mentoring sessions and review feedback, students learn how to move beyond descriptive storytelling to craft cases that provoke classroom discussion and managerial judgment.

Case Craft 2026 not only sharpens research and writing competencies but also familiarizes students with global case publishing standards. Winning and shortlisted cases receive recognition and opportunities for further refinement for submission to reputed case repositories. The initiative reflects the Case Center’s commitment to nurturing future scholars, educators, and industry professionals who can think critically and communicate complex business challenges with clarity and insight.

2) Student Case Study Competition – Smart Tank 2026

Smart Tank 2026 is a student case study competition that challenges participants to demonstrate analytical rigor, strategic thinking, and persuasive communication. Unlike case writing, this competition focuses on case analysis and solution design, requiring students to step into the role of decision-makers responding to complex managerial situations.

Participants are presented with carefully curated business cases reflecting contemporary challenges across industries. Working individually or in teams, students analyze the problem context, evaluate alternatives, and propose well-reasoned, implementable solutions supported by frameworks and evidence. The competition emphasizes clarity of thought, feasibility of recommendations, and the ability to defend decisions under questioning.

Smart Tank 2026 simulates real-world consulting and leadership environments, where ambiguity, time constraints, and competing priorities are the norm. Presentations are evaluated by an expert jury comprising faculty and industry professionals, providing participants with valuable feedback on both content and delivery.

Through Smart Tank 2026, the Case Center aims to strengthen students’ decision-making capabilities, business acumen, and confidence in articulating insights—skills that are critical for careers in management, consulting, and entrepreneurship.

3) Case Writing Workshop for Faculty

The Case Writing Workshop for Faculty is a capacity-building initiative aimed at strengthening faculty competencies in developing high-quality teaching cases for management education. Designed for both early-career and experienced faculty, the workshop demystifies the craft of case writing by combining conceptual grounding with hands-on application.

Participants are introduced to the anatomy of a strong teaching case, including problem framing, narrative flow, data integration, and the articulation of teaching objectives. Special emphasis is placed on identifying publishable case ideas, engaging protagonists, and writing effective teaching notes aligned with learning outcomes. The workshop also addresses ethical considerations, field research methods, and common pitfalls in case development.

Interactive sessions, peer discussions, and guided exercises allow faculty to refine their own case ideas and receive constructive feedback. By the end of the workshop, participants are better equipped to convert classroom experiences, industry engagements, and research insights into impactful teaching cases.

This initiative supports the Case Center’s mission to expand India-centric case content and empower faculty to contribute meaningfully to case-based pedagogy and scholarly repositories.

4) Teaching Workshops for Faculty (Teaching with Cases)

The Teaching Workshops for Faculty focus on enhancing classroom effectiveness through the case method of teaching. While writing cases is critical, teaching them well requires a distinct set of facilitation skills, and these workshops are designed to address that need.

Faculty participants explore how to design engaging case discussions, ask probing questions, manage diverse viewpoints, and balance structure with spontaneity in the classroom. The workshops emphasize student-centered learning, encouraging instructors to move from content delivery to guided discovery. Techniques for cold calling, board planning, discussion flow, and handling difficult classroom dynamics are discussed in depth.

Participants also examine how learning objectives, case selection, and assessment strategies align to create meaningful learning experiences. Through simulations and reflective exercises, faculty gain confidence in moderating discussions that foster critical thinking, ethical reasoning, and managerial judgment.

These workshops reinforce the Case Center’s commitment to pedagogical excellence by enabling faculty to use cases not merely as teaching tools, but as platforms for deep engagement and experiential learning.

5) FLAME Case Conference 2026

The FLAME Case Conference 2026 serves as a national platform for educators, researchers, and practitioners to engage in dialogue around case-based teaching and research. The conference brings together participants from diverse disciplines to discuss innovations, challenges, and best practices in case pedagogy.

The conference features paper presentations, panel discussions, and interactive sessions focused on case writing, case teaching, and the use of cases in interdisciplinary and experiential learning contexts. Participants share insights on developing India-centric cases, integrating industry perspectives, and adapting the case method to evolving classroom formats.

In addition to scholarly exchange, the conference fosters collaboration among faculty, institutions, and industry professionals interested in advancing case-based learning. It also provides an opportunity for emerging case writers to receive feedback and visibility within the academic community.

Through FLAME Case Conference 2026, the Case Center strengthens its role as a hub for thought leadership and capacity building in case methodology, contributing to the broader ecosystem of management education in India.
